About Shayka Saleha Bukhari Islam

Shaykha Saleha Bukhari Islam is a Chaplain, Muslim scholar, Educator and Speaker, working with numerous grassroots organisations. She is one of the Chaplains working with the Canary Wharf Multi-Faith Chaplaincy team. She is a BSc Hons graduate in Computing and a Shariah graduate who completed her 6-year seminary studies as a mature student and specialised in Prophetic narrations.

Shaykha Saleha has recently completed a PCSP (Professional Counselling Skills Programme) and is a qualified SFBT (Solution Focus Based Therapist), which helps her to be holistic in her approach to understanding the world view of others.

In addition she is currently training as a female Islamic Jurist (Muftiyah).

Shaykha Saleha is a UK-based scholar who has studied with some of UK’s most-renowned scholars.

Some of her work includes the following:

  • She made history as one of the first female scholars to appear on the live Q&A show IslamiQA on Islam Channel

  • She’s one of the advising scholars at Islamic Relief UK and a Shariah Advisor/Counsellor with Nour Domestic Violence.

  • She’s one of the judges on the Board of Scholars at The Muslim Law (Shariah) Council and supports other Shariah councils such as The Imam & MWAC.

  • She has been an instructor in Islamic studies for over ten years and currently teaches Fiqh and advanced Qira’ah at Ebrahim College.

Saleha is an advocate and believer in the empowerment of Muslim women through education and engagement. A devoted wife and mother of two young men, she balances her family life with her professional commitments, embodying the values of service and dedication.
